Robert S. Venick, MD

Dr. Venick is a Professor of Pediatrics and Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He graduated Cum Laude from Duke University with a B.A. in Public Policy, prior to attending medical school at the University of Southern California. Dr. Venick completed his residency and fellowship at UCLA, where he also pursued a Master of Science in Clinical Research. He has been on faculty at UCLA since 2006, where he serves as Director of Pediatric Liver and Intestinal Transplantation Services at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA.

Dr. Venick has received funding from the National Institute of Health and the American Society of Transplantation for his research in intestinal failure associated liver disease, auto-immune hepatitis, liver and intestinal transplant-related pharmacogenomics, medication adherence and post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease. He is Chair of the Scientific Committee for the Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplant Association. Dr. Venick is active in many professional societies in the pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, nutrition and transplant communities. He has authored over 75 peer reviewed publications, and his teaching skills have been recognized by many of the trainees he has mentored over the years. His clinical skills have also been recognized as a Southern California Super Doctors ®.
