Lauren Nathan, MD - UCLA Westwood, Professor Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Lauren Nathan is an attending physician and professor in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the David Geffen School of Medicine. She practices general obstetrics and gynecology with an interest in menopause and hormone therapy, and has served as principal investigator at the UCLA clinical center for the Extension of the Clinical Trial and Observational Study of the Women's Health Initiative between 2005-2010, carrying out research related to estrogens and heart disease. Dr. Nathan has also held many positions related to education of students and residents, including serving as program director for the Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training program at UCLA between 2008 and 2018. She currently directs the 4th years student electives, oversees student specialty advising and mentoring, co-chairs a committee addressing the clinical learning environment, and is one of the course chairs for a new Reproduction Block for first year medical students. She is also the Vice Chair of Education for the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
